The small furnace and the regenerator are important parts of the furnace structure. The small furnace is a device that preheats and mixes fuel and air, and organizes combustion. The structure of the small furnace should ensure that the flame has a certain length, brightness, rigidity, and angle, has a sufficient coverage area, does not flutter, does not stratify, and must meet the requirements of the temperature and atmosphere required in the kiln. The regenerator uses refractory materials as a heat storage body (called checker bricks) to accumulate part of the heat exhausted from the flue gas from the kiln, and is used to heat the air and gas entering the kiln. The structure of the regenerator is convenient for heating a large amount of gas, and can heat the cold gas to a higher temperature. However, the regenerator is operated intermittently, the heating temperature is not easy to stabilize, and it is configured in pairs. Due to the flame reversing operation, the exchanger must be used. Therefore, it takes up a lot of space, uses a lot of materials, and the investment cost is also high.
According to the different fuel types, the combined structure of the small furnace and the regenerator has two forms, namely, the box-shaped combination and the semi-box-shaped combination. At present, the glass melting furnace uses three fuels: heavy oil, natural gas and producer gas. When heavy oil and natural gas are used, the structure of the small furnace and the heat storage space is a box structure; when the producer gas is used, the small furnace and the heat storage gas The structure of the chamber is a semi-box structure. The former fuel heavy oil and natural gas do not need to be preheated through the regenerator, but only sprayed into the kiln with the atomizing medium through the burner, and mixed with combustion air in the kiln; the latter is the main furnace gas and air through the storage The hot chamber is preheated, premixed in a small furnace, and then injected into the kiln for combustion. Its structure is more complex than that of oil and natural gas-fired small furnaces and regenerators. The float glass melting furnace and the regenerator are arranged on both sides of the melting furnace and arranged symmetrically. According to the different scales of the melting furnace, there are generally 4 to 8 pairs.
