The coke tank is an important equipment throughout the entire coke quenching production process. It is used to transport the red coke pushed out from the carbonization chamber at about 1100°C. The red coke is loaded into the CDQ furnace through the traction device and the lifting device. When refractory castables did not appear, the lining of coke tanks in major domestic steel plants all used alloy liners instead of light-weight heat-insulating refractory castables as the lining of coke tanks. As a result, the alloy liner will soften over time and slowly block the rotary sealing valve. Therefore, people often used light-weight thermal insulation refractory castables as coke tank linings, so how to choose refractory castables for coke tank linings? Compared with alloy liner, what are the advantages?
High temperature resistant castable
Coke tank lining refractory castable selection method and benefits:
1. Due to the limited weight requirements of the lifting equipment for lifting the coke tank to the top of the CDQ, the lining quality of the refractory castable of the coke tank must be controlled at about 10t after calculation. Therefore, an important index of the refractory castable is Bulk density.
2. In order to reduce the sensible heat loss of the red coke and protect the coke tank shell and its surrounding components, the refractory castable should have a lower thermal conductivity.
3. When the coke can is rotated for coke, the red coke and the coke can collide or rub against, causing the coke can wall to be easily abraded, so the wear resistance of the refractory castable is better.
4. The surface of the high-strength lightweight castable is rough and porous, and the abrasion is deep. The matrix and aggregate have different degrees of wear; the high-strength mullite lightweight castable has very little wear except for some cracks caused by the dense surface sintering. The aggregate is not worn and the surface is still very smooth. The lower cone section of the coke tank bears most of the gravity of the coke, so it must have a higher compressive strength.
5. The coke tank has performed well since it was put into use, which is mainly reflected in the heat preservation effect of the refractory castable. The heat preservation effect of refractory castables is very significant, which greatly reduces the heat loss of red coke and the damage of high temperature to the tank and its surrounding components. Moreover, this part of the heat recovered not only improves the heat recovery rate, but also improves the dry quenching coke oven The amount of steam and power generation.
6. ??Due to the low thermal conductivity of the refractory castable, it can ensure that the red coke is parked in the coke tank for a long time without causing the temperature of the tank wall to rise sharply, softening the steel shell, thereby protecting the coke tank and eliminating potential safety hazards.
7. Since the lining of the coke tank is replaced with refractory castables, the original I-beam frame and alloy liner structure of the coke tank needs to be changed to a simplified structure, which is spliced ??by steel plates and made of 10mm ordinary steel, others The closing mechanism and lifting mechanism remain unchanged.
8. In order to ensure the overall stability of the castable and avoid the phenomenon of large-area peeling of the castable, an 80mm high "V-shaped" anchor nail is welded on the inner wall of the coke tank every 200mm.
Using lightweight castable as the inner lining, it can avoid the phenomenon of blocking the rotary sealing valve. This is due to the low thermal conductivity of the refractory castable, which can ensure that the red coke is parked in the coke tank for a long time without causing the temperature of the tank wall to rise sharply, softening the steel shell, thereby protecting the coke tank and eliminating potential safety hazards. The coke tank lined with lightweight castables can store red coke for a long time, and there is no need to worry about heat damage to the tank body and the lifting mechanism due to high temperature.
