The performance of high alumina bricks is an important factor affecting high alumina brick price

1. Refractoriness

The refractoriness of high-alumina bricks is higher than that of clay bricks and semi-silica bricks, reaching 1750~1790, which belongs to high-grade refractory materials.

2. Load softening temperature

Because of the high Al2O3 in high alumina products, less impurities and less fusible glass body, the softening temperature under load is higher than that of clay bricks, but because mullite crystals do not form a network structure, the softening temperature under load is still lower than that of silica bricks.

3. Slag resistance

There are more Al2O3 in high alumina bricks, which are close to neutral refractory materials, and can resist the erosion of acid slag and alkaline slag. Because it contains SiO2, the ability to resist alkaline slag is weaker than that of acid slag.

High alumina bricks are mainly used for the lining of blast furnaces, hot blast stoves, electric furnace roofs, blast furnaces, reverberatory furnaces and rotary kilns. In addition, high alumina bricks are also widely used as open hearth regenerative checker bricks, plugs for pouring systems, nozzle bricks, etc. However, the price of high-alumina bricks is higher than that of clay bricks, so it is not necessary to use high-alumina bricks where clay bricks can meet the requirements.

3. The influence of size on the price of high alumina bricks

The size of high alumina bricks is generally divided into national standard, special type and special type. The size of the national standard is fixed, and the production enterprises can produce in large quantities, so the price is relatively low; while the size and shape of special-shaped and special-shaped bricks are not fixed. Except for general special-shaped bricks, customized production is generally required, which requires the cost of mold opening and production. The difficulty also increases according to the complexity of the shape, so the price is relatively high.
