What are the four common types of thermal insulation bricks?

Thermal insulation bricks are also called Lightweight refractory bricks . The raw materials used can be divided into clay, siliceous, aluminum and mullite. The reason why lightweight bricks can be insulated is because the bricks contain a large number of pores . The methods of creating pores include adding combustibles, the foaming method, and chemical method.

Lightweight clay thermal insulation brick

Light clay thermal insulation bricks are insulation refractory products made of refractory clay as the main raw material with an Al2O3 content of 30% to 48%. Its production process adopts burn-out addition method and foam method. Using refractory clay, floating beads, and refractory clay clinker as raw materials, adding binders and sawdust, batching, mixing, forming, drying, and firing, a product with a bulk density of 0.3 to 1.5 g/cm3 is obtained. The output of lightweight clay insulating bricks accounts for more than half of the total output of insulating refractory bricks.

Lightweight siliceous thermal insulation brick

Lightweight siliceous thermal insulation bricks are thermal insulation refractory products with SiO2 content of not less than 91% made of silica as the main raw material. The bulk density of lightweight silicon insulation bricks is 0.9~1.1g/cm3, and the thermal conductivity is only half that of ordinary silicon bricks. It has good thermal vibration resistance and its load softening starting temperature can reach 1600, which is much higher than that of clay insulation bricks. Therefore, the maximum service temperature of siliceous thermal insulation brick can reach 1550. It does not shrink at high temperatures, and even slightly expands.

Lightweight alumina thermal insulation brick

Lightweight alumina insulation bricks are heat insulation and refractory products made of fused corundum, sintered alumina and industrial alumina as the main raw materials. The production process has two types: foam method and burn-out addition method.

High-aluminum thermal insulation refractory bricks have the characteristics of small bulk density, low thermal conductivity, excellent thermal insulation performance and stable quality. It can be used as the lining or heat insulation layer of various high-temperature furnaces.

Lightweight mullite thermal insulation brick

Lightweight mullite thermal insulation bricks are thermal-insulating refractory products made of mullite as the main raw material. Mullite insulation bricks have high temperature resistance, high strength, low thermal conductivity, and can be directly contacted with flames. They are suitable for the lining of various industrial kilns.
